This year’s student(s) of the year proudly goes to Manman and Kuikui!

Their firm commitment to practice has enabled them to play at this standard by 12 and 8 years of age. Solid year’s worth of work for some pretty solid results.
Every student is different and requires a different approach. These 2 showed practice and discipline well beyond the average student. Late nights, double lessons, extra lessons. This is the result of 30-40 min of practice a night for a solid year. The exact opposite of last year’s formula.
This video was made from 3 takes (I don’t own 3 cameras). This way, we could get the best and most fun video to remember the experience with. There are a couple of things that bug me about how I filmed it (I’m not a video guy). Hopefully, if you do notice them, they won’t get in the way of you enjoying it.
I’m very happy that I could give them something to remember all of the hard work by. They have very much earned all of the praise I can give.
In the process, they played live a couple of times, and got a bit of time behind the mics, learned about instrument, stage and recording technology and professional practice.
Shameless plug to the book I wrote,
Until you have all of the scales, modes, rhythms and triads in your head, you should have a copy of it in your hands. Know Your S#>% On Guitar – the book that gives you all of the S#>% you should know without the boring bits.

The book goes best with lessons, or some prior knowledge (a couple of songs is enough and a thirst to Google tabs). If you are interested in lessons, positions are in short supply. Text Finn on 0404 128 828 or e-mail sonic.fingerprinit.studios@gmail.com to see if we can line up a time. It might be hard to get in, but once you are in, you have our 100% attention.
Student of the year – 2024
Logan Millar – 14 Year Old Guitar Wizard And His Guitar, at Echo Tone.
Guitar prodigy Logan Millar is blowing us all away! Tune after tune in this style. Logan has been getting lessons with Sonic Fingerprint Studios for a 4 and a half years. He is right on the edge of professional musician. If you see him in your internet feed, share the love. 🙂
Victorian School Instrumental Championship (VSIC).
On October 20, Logan stepped up to the stage to represent his teacher with his awesome guitar skills at the Victorian School Instrumental Championship.

Congratulations to Logan for winning 3rd prize for year 7-9 guitar.

Big thanks to Echo Tone for helping make this video possible.
The video at the top was filmed at my favourite guitar shop Echo Tone. Located in Northcote Melbourne. All of their staff are incredible knowledgeable of the art and all of the pieces that go into making it. They are also stocking copies of my latest book “Know Your S#>% On Guitar“. Have a look/browse through the pages and see if the humour and theory combo ticks your boxes for a good investment.
